Forum Outline:

Internet of Anything (IoX) becomes a powerful engine to the fourth industrial revolution for humankind, which covers the interactive implementations of smart city, smart manufacturing (i.e., production 4.0), smart living, smart vehicle, and smart me (e.g., fitness, wellness, and health care). Such systems would establish ubiquitous platforms for person-to-person, person-to-thing, and thing-to-thing communication and interaction by means of smart, real-time sensing, actuation, monitoring, feedback, control, data fusion and analysis, and decision making. Therefore, IoX, which integrates the hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and scenario analysis, is expected to offer humankind a more convenient, more comfortable, and safer life.

As a key driver for IoX, MEMS sensors and actuators have been widely employed in current consumer and wearable electronics. To answer the demands of IoX, MEMS industry serves as the leading-edge part of the systems to boost the use of conventional semiconductor and IC industry chains, finally enabling high-margin service-oriented interactive products and systems. Therefore, innovative strategies and roadmaps in the next generation MEMS product development are a must. In order to catch up such new IoX markets, the MEMS industry has to leverage and integrate a variety of resources on design, fabrication, packaging, and testing to bring cost-effective products into the markets and eventually benefit the overall society.

The MEMS Forum in this year will emphasize “MEMS for Smart IoX” where many renowned MEMS leaders will share their valuable experiences and knowledge about MEMS micro system designs, packaging, testing, manufacturing, and equipment with applications in smart city, smart factory, smart automotive, smart home, and smart me.
